Air conditioning device (1) intended to equip a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle containing a front transverse dashboard that is mounted according to a service position in which it is attached to a central region of this dashboard, containing this device (1) a housing (2) having at least one air inlet (16) located at the top of this housing (2) installed in the service position, this housing (2) containing a centrifugal drum fan (14) (17) to aspirate the air admitted by the air inlet (16) and expel it through an air outlet (33-34, 36-39), in which the housing (2) delimits around the drum (17) with a volute (22 ) which collects the air centrifuged by this drum (17) to direct it towards a lower part of the housing (2), said housing (2) containing in its lower part in service position an evaporator (25) and / or a radiator ( 26), as well as a front mixing shutter (29) and a shutter of rear mixing (30) arranged to establish two air flows having different temperatures, these two air flows ascending in a distribution column (35) of the device to be distributed to a left region and to a right region of the cabin, containing this device a separation wall (42) extending in the column (35), said device characterized in that this wall (42) has a left shape that approaches a quarter turn of braid, which contains a lower portion that extends above the radiator (26) and evaporator (25) inscribing in a medium transverse plane (PMT) that separates the column (35) in a front half and in a rear half when the device is in its service position, with the in order to constitute a front air flow and a rear air flow, and an upper portion terminated by a longitudinal upper edge (D) extending in accordance with a medium plane l ongitudinal (PML) that separates the column into a first lateral half and a second lateral half when the device is in service, in order to channel the forward air flow to one of the lateral halves of the column (35) and the rear air flow to the other half of the column (35).
