A shock wave device comprising: A shock wave applicator (30), which includes a reflector disposed within an enclosure; wherein the reflector is a portion of an ellipsoidal shape, where the ellipsoidal shape has a first focal point (F1) and a second focal point (F2); wherein the reflector ends at an edge that defines an opening in a plane and a means for the generation of shock waves, arranged in the housing at the first focal point (F1) of the ellipsoidal shape, which establishes a focal line with the second focal point (F2) of the ellipsoidal shape; characterized in that the reflector (24) is an asymmetric portion of the ellipsoidal shape and said focal line intersects the plane defined by the termination edge of the reflector, in an intermediate section between the first (F1) and the second (F2) focal points, at a non-perpendicular angle (α2).
