AN INTERFACE MODULE ELECTRICALLY INTERFACES THE CHARGE CONTROLLER (100) BETWEEN THE SOURCE AND THE BATTERY. A SECOND INTERFACE MODULE FURTHER ELECTRICALLY INTERFACES THE CHARGE CONTROLLER (100) BETWEEN THE BATTERY AND THE LOAD. IN OPERATION, THE CHARGE CONTROLLER (100) CONTROLS THE DISCONNECT/RECONNECT FUNCTIONS FOR THE SOURCE TO BATTERY CONNECTION AND FOR THE BATTERY TO LOAD CONNECTION. THE CHARGE CONTROLLER (100) DESIGNED IS PARTICULARLY SUITABLE FOR THE VOLTAGE SOURCE BEING A PHOTOVOLTAIC (PV) OR SOLAR PANEL. AT NIGHT, REVERSE CURRENT FLOW FROM THE BATTERY TO THE PV PANEL IS PREVENTED. THE CONTROLLER IS DESIGNED TO PROLONG THE BATTERY'S LIFETIME AND STABILIZE THE VOLTAGE FROM THE VOLTAGE SOURCE.
