The invention relates to a method for in-vitro testing the viability of microbial strains with probiotic role. According to the invention, the method consists in simulating in vitro the transit through the gastrointestinal tract with simulation solutions which contain 0.1 % lyophilized biomass of strains with probiotic potential in a Duran vessel of borosilicate glass and monitoring and controlling in real time the pH value on an Arduino Yun module to which a pH electrode and a peristaltic pump are attached, taking the samples under sterile conditions and determining the microbial viability.
