the present invention relates to a hybrid composite. according to the invention, the oil palm fiber (opf) and clay particles were modified and then incorporated in a matrix of high density polyethylene (hdpe). the hybrid composite were prepared and mixed to make them compatible with the double screw extrusion machine, followed by compression molding.alkali treatment improves the surface fibres opf interaction between two charges and the polymer, and the addition of coupling agent increased the interfacial adhesion between the two charges and the polymer matrix.
