[062] METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CHARGING AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE BASED ON CHARGING PREFERENCE OF A USER [063] The present disclosure provides a method and system for charging electric vehicle based on charging preference of user. The electric vehicle is configured with on-board control unit and Human Machine Interface (HMI). The on-board control unit displays one or more selection icons corresponding to one or more charging parameters when electric vehicle is connected to charging station. The one or more charging parameters are state of charge of electrical storage unit time to charge and cost to charge. The user of the electric vehicle provides input for one of the charging parameter and based on the user input, first result indicative of one of estimated SOC and estimated TTC is determined. The on-board control unit determines second result indicative of one of TTC and CTC. The on-board control unit displays first result and second result on the HMI for user selection based on which charging station charges the electric vehicle. (Figure 1)
