The invention relates to tubing comprising a portion wherein the center line of the portion follows a substantially helical path, wherein the propeller amplitude is less than or equal to one-half of the inner diameter of the tubing. When fluid seeps into such a pipe, it is forced to become turbulent. This provides numerous advantages such as better mixing in the fluid plane, greater uniformity of residence time and so on. The invention also extends to various methods of manufacturing such pipe.
