A method comprising (for each of one or more cells of the cellular communication network) transmitting a respective metering configuration message to at least one of the wireless communication devices, wherein each metering configuration message comprises an instruction that the Wireless communication device must use a particular signal quality measurement method, the particular signal quality measurement method being selected from a group of available signal quality measurement methods comprising a first signal quality measurement method wherein measurements are made based on a first number of symbols and a second signal quality measurement method wherein measurements are made based on a second number of symbols. the measured signal quality can be either rsrq or rssi, and the symbols ofdm symbols. furthermore, the second number of symbols may comprise all ofdm symbols, or only crs symbols.
