It aims to enable the energy use of rivers with great variability of flow and fall, for example, the rivers of the Amazon basin, or tides in coastal regions. This technology combines the harnessing of potential energy with the small drop and the kinetic energy of water with the venturi effect caused by the high velocity of water spilled out of the plant turbine. The low pressure caused by the high water velocity after the plant spillway pulls water out of the turbine outlet, thereby increasing the amount of water passing through the turbine and the electricity generated by the plant.
