"Lactate dehydrogenase (ldh) enzyme inhibiting compounds, compound prodrug, ldh-a subunit inhibition method of mammalian ldh enzyme, ldh-5 enzyme inhibition method in mammals and compound use" The present invention refers to compounds, some of which are new, and their pharmaceutical applications. The compounds of the invention inhibit the enzyme lactate dehydrogenase (ldh) in both the hypoxic tumor cell metabolic processes and the process used by the parasitic protozoan that causes malaria to obtain most of the energy it needs.
