PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a method which can determine Koshihikari produced from Niigata Prefecture easily and specifically.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of determining a rice-producing district or breeds of rice, comprising a primer set which is constituted from two or more primers which may detect the presence or absence of inserting a first target mPing found out in a first chromosome of component species of Koshihikari from Niigata Prefecture and a kit containing it, and confirming the presence or absence of inserting the first target mPing by amplification reaction at least using the primer set which is constituted from two or more primers which may detect the presence or absence of inserting of the first target mPing found out in the first chromosome of the component species of Koshihikari from Niigata Prefecture.
