Systems, methods, apparatus and devices for wireless communication are described. A first method comprises the steps of establishing a first wireless local area network (WLAN) interface between the WLAN chipset and the application processor (AP) subsystem, establishing a first wireless local area network (WLAN) interface between the WLAN chipset and the modem subsystem, 2 WLAN interfaces to the WLAN. The second WLAN interface may include a data path between the WLAN chipset and the modem subsystem. The data path may bypass the AP subsystem. The second method involves establishing a WLAN interface between the WLAN chipset and the AP subsystem and dynamically managing the WLAN connectivity via the WLAN interface using the modem subsystem .
