Various embodiments may be implemented on a multi-SIM multi-active (MSMA) communication device for managing victim subscription desense by reducing the data channel transmit power of the aggressor subscription before reducing the control channel transmit power. A method implemented in is provided. When a victim is to be sensed / will be deduced, the processor of the MSMA communication device determines the desense power threshold that an aggressor subscription can transmit without desenting one or more victim subscriptions May be. The processor may reduce the transmit power of the data channel of the aggressor subscription within a desense power threshold. If zero data channel transmit power for the aggressor subscription is not sufficient to avoid victim desense, the transmit power for the control channel for the aggressor subscription is de-asserted by the aggregate transmit power for the aggressor subscription. It may be reduced until it is below the threshold. This reduces desense to victim subscriptions with minimal disruption to aggressor subscription throughput.
