PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new road construction method with a bicycle traffic zone using a free gradient side ditch, the method being created in order to deal with a conventional problem and able to form new road construction providing a bicycle traffic zone to roads having various drainage gradients easily and at low cost.;SOLUTION: A new road construction method of the present invention includes: a substantially gate-shaped free gradient side ditch having a substantially rectangular opening extending toward the longitudinal direction and formed in the top wall portion; and a slit lid providing a drainage slit installed in the opening and penetrating vertically in a ridge projected upward from a lid top surface, and having several kinds of height of the ridge prepared. The road construction method is characterized by: performing construction so that the position of the top end side of the free gradient side ditch may be positioned lower than the height of a planned pavement face; selecting the slit lid in the height of the planned pavement face among several kinds of slit lid after the construction and installing it in the opening; and installing boundary blocks in the walkway side of the ridge, and then paving it to a top height on the ridge.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT
