PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for judging susceptibility of developing fetal membrane edema of bovine fetus and methods for identifying carriers of bovine fetal membrane edema.SOLUTION: A method comprises: detecting the presence or absence of the mutation of SLC12A1 gene in the nucleic acids isolated from the bovine fetus; detecting the presence or absence of the mutation of SLC12A1 gene in the nucleic acids isolated from the parents of the bovine fetus; or investigating the expression level of SLC12A1 gene in the nucleic acids isolated from the parents of the bovine fetus; and detecting the presence or absence of the mutation of SLC12A1 gene in the nucleic acid isolated from the cattle.SELECTED DRAWING: None
