The present invention relates to a microdevice for detecting volatile compounds comprising: - an inlet (E) and an outlet (S), - sampling means (2) of a gaseous sample comprising at least one compound to be detected; means for injecting (3) said gaseous sample; means for separating (5) the compound to be detected in the gaseous sample; means for detecting (6) the compound; and - a gas circulation circuit (1) located downstream of the sampling means and passing through the injection means (3), the separation means (5) and the detection means (6); characterized in that the gas circulation circuit (1) has a volume of between 0.2cm3 and 2.0cm3
