A kit for the treatment of a sheet of hydrocarbons comprising two separate surfactants, one having a hydrophilic - lipophilic balance hlb1 between 1 and 10, the other having a hydrophilic - lipophilic balance hlb2 between 10 and 20. A method for determining the composition of a mixture of surfactants, said method comprising the following steps: a) preparation of several mixtures, each containing one of the two surfactants of the kit and a surfactant which is different from those contained in said kit, the amount of surfactant of the kit of increasing manner in the mixtures; b) the incorporation of each of the mixtures of hydrocarbons; c) the addition of an aqueous solution at each of the mixtures; d) the stirring of the mixtures; e) identification of the mixture (s) having a phase for microemulsion, f) determination of the proportion of surfactants used in the (s) mixture (s) identified (s) in step e).
