The present invention relates to a device for the detection of boars odor on a proposes eight pig (1), comprising an electronic gas sensor system (2) with at least one electronic gas sensor (3) and with an evaluating unit (4), whereby by means of the electronic gas sensor system (2) via specific odorous substances of the proposes eight schw one (1) can be detected and where, by means of the electronic gas sensor system (2) can be evaluated, a detection result can be made available, and comprising an air guiding device (5), by means of which a supply of the via specific odorous substances from a detection range (7) of the proposes eight schw one (1) to the electronic gas sensor system (2) can be made available, and comprising a heat source (6), by means of which the detection area (7) of the proposes eight schw one can be acted upon with heat.
