In an exemplary embodiment, a method for data processing for determining whether in an embodiment of a program an error has occurred, is provided. The method has a carrying out coded program - code; executing at least one instruction of the coded program - codes based on first coded one or more numerical values, which by means of a arithmetic code comprising a first multiplier are encoded and one or more operands of the at least one instruction; and executing the at least one instruction based on second coded one or more numerical values, which, by means of the arithmetic code comprising a second multiplier are encoded and the one or more operands of the at least one instruction. In addition, the method to determine whether in the embodiment of the program an error has occurred, based on first one or more output values of the execution of the at least one instruction to the first coded one or more numerical values and the first multiplier and / or based on second one or more output values of the execution of the at least one instruction to the second encoded one or more numerical values and the second multiplier.
