The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for improving energy efficiency during spectrum access in a cognitive radio enabled sensor network (CRSN). A method for transmitting data in a CRSN according to the present invention comprises: a sensing step of checking the state of a channel for report (CRF) and a channel for use (CFU) by each secondary user who transceives a control message by using a control channel and transceives data by using a data channel; a reporting step of transceiving the state of the channels, which is checked by the secondary users, between the secondary users by using the control channel; a contention step of reserving the CRF according to the state of the channels by the secondary users; and a data transmission step of transmitting the data through the channel reserved by the secondary users. The method of the present invention can improve energy efficiency during MAC protocol operation in the CRSN of a multi-channel environment with limited power supply.
