The present invention relates to a method, an access point (AP) device and a system for providing speed information of a wireless local area network (WLAN), capable of providing a WLAN providing speed to a terminal connected to an AP. The method for providing speed information of a WLAN in an AP comprises the following steps: determining whether or not the speed of a wired LAN connected to the AP is larger than a threshold value; when the speed of the wired LAN is larger than the threshold value, setting a function relating to a first wireless network protocol of the AP to an off-state; receiving a probe request message from a mobile terminal; and transmitting a probe response message including a second wireless network protocol to the mobile terminal.
