The present invention relates to an erasure coding method in a graphic processor-based cloud storage system, wherein the method performs operations for erasure codes by a graphic processor provided with multiple GPU cores. The erasure coding method in a graphic processor-based cloud storage system of the present invention comprises the steps of: (a) reading data to a main memory; (b) chunking and dividing the read data into chunk data, and allocating the chunk data to a GPU memory; (c) separating the chunk data into a front disk pair and a rear disk pear, and allocating a factor vector pair to GPU cores in the same number of the disks, thereby performing XOR operations in parallel; (d) allocating a front disk pair sub-parity and a rear disk pair sub-parity, which are a result of XOR operations in the step (c), in the GPU cores, and then operating XOR operations; and (e) transmitting a parity, which is the result of the XOR operations in the step (d), to the main memory. Through the erasure coding method above, executing parallel-processing on the XOR operations needed in generating erasure codes can reduce a considerable amount of time needed for XOR operations, and facilitate other operations in the CPU cores, thereby enhancing overall performances.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
