The present invention relates to a method for forming the coating layer by a uniform containing borides and nitrides on the surface of a cBN powder in a simple process. According to the present invention, through a simple apparatus without the need for special atmosphere heat treatment method it can be obtained cBN powder having the covering layer having a cargo and boron nitride. Further, according to the present invention, since the cBN powder by the vapor phase reaction a coating layer having a boride and a nitride formed on the surface to obtain a cBN powder coating layer is uniformly formed over the entire cBN powder. ;
