The present invention relates to novel microbial strains L. plantarum MCCI DSM 23881 and L. gasseri MCC2 DSM 23882 and their use as antioxidant protein hydrolysates for the production of food and dietary supplements. Food and dietary supplements containing L. prosta room MCCl and L. gasseri MCC2 are hypoallergenic and have lower urinary tract symptoms accompanied by milk allergy and mild prostatic hyperplasia and their associated oxidative stress and inflammation .
