INTERNET OF THINGS-BASED IMAGE MANAGING SYSTEM CAPABLE OF COLLECTING SENSOR INFORMATION FOR PREVENTING LONELY DEATH OF ELDER LIVING ALONE AND MONITORING ELDER ONLY WHEN EVENT OCCURS
An Internet of the things (IOT)-based image monitoring system for an elder living alone according to the present invention is a system which adopts an IOT-based Internet protocol (IP) closed-circuit television (CCTV) and an activity sensor in a house of the elder living alone, notifies a smartphone of a caring assistant (or a relevant member) when the elder living alone does not move more than a set time period, and enables the caring assistant to determine whether an accident occurs to the elder living alone through an image. A feature of the present invention is that an image of the elder living alone is not transmitted in an image of the IP CCTV during a normal situation, and only state information of the activity is displayed. According to the feature of the present invention, privacy of the elder living alone is protected during a normal situation since the image of the elder living alone is not transmitted, and the state of the elder living alone is acknowledged through an image by using an alarm function only when an abnormal situation occurs. When no activity is detected for a predetermined time period (e. g. 12 hours), a danger event occurs, and a corresponding caring assistant acknowledges an image of the elder living alone through a smartphone and determines whether the elder living alone is OK or not. Therefore, an abnormal state of an elder living alone can be directly acknowledged through an image while protecting privacy of the elder living alone, which can be used for preventing a lonely death of the elder living alone. Also, a quality of life of an elder living alone can be improved by accurately monitoring a sign of an abnormal state and an emergent situation using images as well as conventional sensors.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
