The present invention relates to a blue phosphorescent organic light emitting diode comprising: an anode; a hole injection layer (HIL) formed on the anode; a hole transport layer (HTL) formed on the hole injection layer; an exciton blocking layer (EBL) formed on the hole transport layer; an emitting layer (EML) formed on the exciton blocking layer and containing blue phosphorescent dopants; an electron transport layer (ETL) formed on the emitting layer; and a cathode formed on the electron transport layer, wherein hosts of the exciton blocking layer and the emitting layer are made of the same substance. The blue phosphorescent organic light emitting diode according to the present invention has the exciton blocking layer in front of the emitting layer so as to suppress triplet exciton quenching in an interface between the emitting layer and the hole transport layer and an interface between the emitting layer and the electron transport layer and achieve charge balance in the emitting layer, thereby having markedly improved efficiency.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
