A crop yield recording device (101) receives information which indicates the total volume of each of a plurality of classifications of crops of a particular plant that were produced in a plurality of agricultural fields, but which does not separately indicate the volume of each classification of crop that was produced in each agricultural field. The crop yield recording device (101) then refers to a storage unit (110) for the area of the portion of each of the plurality of agricultural fields where the particular plant was grown and harvested, and divides the total volume of each classification of crop of the particular plant into individual volumes proportionally based on the area of the portion of each agricultural field where the particular plant was grown and harvested. The crop yield recording device (101) then associates and stores the obtained volume of each classification of crop for each agricultural field and an identifier of the agricultural field.
