An extraction procedure to obtain a standardized extract of quercetin and 3-O-methylquercetin from inflorescences of marcela (Achyrocline satureioides) characterized by comprising the following steps: A) grinding the inflorescences of Achyrocline satureioides to obtain a ground plant material; B) subjecting the ground plant to at least four sequential phases of hydroalcoholic extraction at a temperature of 60ºC to 80ºC, for 3 to 4 hours for each phase, to obtain 4 intermediate hydroalcoholic extracts; C) combine the 4 intermediate hydroalcoholic extracts; D) concentrating the mixture of intermediate hydroalcoholic extracts; to obtain up to a maximum of 20% of the initial mass of the intermediate hydroalcoholic extracts; E) drying the material obtained in (D).
