A payload (10) of a repeater satellite (LEO) of a telecommunications system, the said repeater satellite that is intended to be put into orbit by moving above the Earth's surface and the payload (10) that is configured to repeat data received from a stationary satellite (GEO) above the Earth's surface towards a terminal (REC) substantially on the Earth's surface and to repeat data received from the terminal towards the stationary satellite, characterized in that the said payload (10) comprises at least one power amplifier (120) and is further configured to: - use the same frequency band for the repetition of data towards the stationary satellite (GEO), called "upstream emission" and for the repetition of data towards the terminal (REC), called "descending emission", the aforementioned frequency band that is any one of the bands VHF, UHF, L, S, C, X, Ka, Q, - effect the emissions ascending and descending emissions in the course of different time intervals, - use the aforementioned power amplifier at the same time for ascending emissions and for descending emissions.
