A method for the detection of lead in oil in the process of production thereof by inverse chronopotentiometry involves sampling, mineralization, cooling and analysis of oil samples for lead content. Measurement of lead content is performed by inverse chronopotentiometry in 0.08-0.15 M HCl solution with use of 4% solution of ascorbic acid in amount of 0.5 cm3 on solid silver electrode coated with amalgam. .
