A method for the determination of blood lipid spectrum indices in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus provides for blood examination. In addition levels of total cholesterol, triglicerides and low-density and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol in venous blood serum are determined, atherogenity coefficient is calculated, determined are fasting glucose level and postprandial glycemia by glucooxidant method and insulin level, results obtained are compared with control, and if indices are changed the changes of blood lipid spectrum are determined in postinfarction patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
