The present invention relates to a process for the production of nanostructured hybrid materials wherein spinel ferrite magnetic nanoparticles, such as magnetite, ferrite and cobalt manganese ferrite, are assembled in coordination complex templates including a carboxymethyl cellulose biopolymer and a cetyltrimetyl-ammonium bromide surfactant; the resulting materials being aqueous dispersing solutions and powders with controllable morphological features and magnetic properties by virtue of the particle size, the template size and morphology, and the density of the nanoparticles assembled therein.
