This invention relates to a subsoiler-cum-differential rate fertilizer applicator for subsoil structure modification by breaking any hard and impermeable soil layer upto the depths of 450 mm, and for simultaneous application of fertilizers and micro-nutrients directly into the root zone of crops. It requires least specific draft due to scientific positioning of two shallow leading winged tines in x-y-z planes with respect to a main winged tine and can be pulled with over 60 hp tractor. It applies fertilizers at the rates of 67% or 75% or 80% at depths of 150 to 250 mm with shallow leading winged tines and the remaining amount of 33% or 25% or 20% of recommended dose at depths varying from 300 to 450 mm, therefore, applying fertilizers in complete root zone. Field evaluation of this machine on potato and sugarcane has given very promising results.
