PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium (Mg) alloy cast material that has excellent flame retardancy and workability, a Mg alloy casting coil material, a Mg alloy wrought product, a Mg alloy joint material, a Mg alloy member excellent in flame retardancy, and a method of manufacturing the Mg alloy cast material.;SOLUTION: The Mg alloy cast material is manufactured as follows: a Mg alloy molten metal that contains, by mass, 2-11% of Al and 0.1-10% of Ca is casted continuously by at least 650°C/second of a cooling speed, by a twin roll continuous casting machine to be manufactured, and DAS is less than 4.5 μm. The cast material is excellent in flame retardancy by containing Ca by a given range, and excels in workability like rolling and press working or the like, by such a fact that the DAS is very small. An intermetallic compound that contains Al and Ca becomes very small by quenching when casting, and it is difficult to become a starting point of a crack, and the cast material is excellent in workability from this point. The wrought product that gives the flattening of rolling or the like to the cast material is kept by a minute condition of the intermetallic compound, and is also excellent in workability.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
