PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To design a centrifugal rotary machine at a low cost that does not cause resonance vibration of a rotary shaft while satisfying required performance by changing a structure of an inner peripheral side inside a blade without changing the structure of the blade of an impeller.;SOLUTION: A design method for a centrifugal compressor includes a step S3 that determines structure specifications of the impeller in each stage and a rotating speed of the centrifugal compressor to meet the weight flow and the inlet and outlet pressure ratio acquired beforehand, a step S7 that calculates a natural frequency of the shaft in the determined structure specifications, a step S8 that determines whether or not the resonance vibration occurs based on the natural frequency of the shaft and the rotating speed, and a step S11 that, when it is determined that the resonance vibration occurs, sets the boss ratio to a value higher than the initial value in the boss ratio setting range. When the boss ratio has been set, the structure is changed to obtain the boss ratio by changing the structure on the inner peripheral side inside the blade without changing the structure of the blade composing the impeller.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
