PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an autonomous collision avoidance system and an autonomous collision avoidance method in a mobile ad hoc network.SOLUTION: A node in an autonomous collision avoidance system in a mobile ad hoc network includes: search means for repeating, at predetermined cycles, searching time, in which a search signal for detecting existence of another node adjacent to the node is transmitted, and searched time, in which a search signal transmitted from the other node is received, and transmitting the search signal in the searching time; connection reception means for, under a searched state, receiving the search signal from the other node and transmitting a connection reception signal; connection establishment means for transmitting the search signal and searching for the other node; and cycle change means for, when although the search signal is transmitted, no connection reception signal is received from the other node, changing the cycles of the searching time and the searched time. With this construction, a collision phenomenon is avoided in which no connection is established between the node and the other node.
