PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an induction heating apparatus and an induction heating method, which enable each of a plurality of types of cylindrical bodies having different diameters from each other to be uniformly and effectively heated across a whole circumference to a preset temperature.;SOLUTION: An induction heating apparatus 1 comprises: a heater panel 10 including an induction coil 11; a retaining device 20 retaining outer clips 5a; lifting means 31 lifting up and down the retaining device 20; and a control device 4. The retaining device 20 includes four claw parts 21 provided in contact with an inner periphery of the outer clip 5a for retaining the outer clip 5a and a claw part moving device 25 moving each claw part 21 to a radial direction of a through hole 14. The retaining device 20 can retain the outer clips 5a of a plurality of types having different diameters from each other, and arrange the outer clip 5a concentrically with the induction coil 11 to keep a clearance L between an outer periphery of the outer clip 5a and an inner periphery of the induction coil 11 constant along a whole circumference of the outer clip 5a.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
