PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calibration method capable of realizing accurate calibration which does not deteriorate in local correction accuracy, even on the boundary portion of small areas.SOLUTION: A correction apparatus comprises: a feature point coordinate acquisition unit 30 which acquires the coordinates of a predetermined feature point in a taken image 13 taken with a camera 10; an ideal coordinate acquisition unit 31 which acquires ideal coordinates where the feature point originally forms an image, in the taken image 13; and a correction formula calculation unit 33 which calculates a distortion correction formula for correcting distortion characteristics in each area obtained by dividing the taken image 13 into plural areas, on the basis of the relation between the coordinates and the ideal coordinates of the feature point. The correction formula calculation unit 33 performs the calculation such that the coordinates after the correction of the feature point shared on the boundary of the respective areas become equal in respective areas.
