PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of selecting a wrinkle-free substitute base material capable of being used as a substitute for a printing base material when acquiring an image correction parameter for correcting streaks and unevenness which occur in images printed on a limp, translucent printing base material, and also to provide a method of creating image quality evaluation chart using the wrinkle-free substitute base material and a method of acquiring the image correction parameter.;SOLUTION: The method of selecting a substitute base material for acquisition of an image correction parameter comprises: calculating the thickness and modulus of elasticity of a wrinkle-free substitute base material, considering that wrinkles are caused by buckling (S12); and evaluating an image on a substitute base material having characteristics equal to or more than those calculated to determine the thickness of the substitute base material on which images are not blurred (S14); and then selecting a substitute base material on which wrinkles and blurring do not occur (S16).
