PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for surface modification capable of increasing the melting point of calixarene used for surface modification of a reinforced fiber in a fiber-reinforced composite material and increasing the melting temperature of a thermoplastic resin.SOLUTION: There is provided a composition for surface modification containing calixarene consisting of a resorcin cyclic tetramer represented by the formula (1) and SiOfine particles. In the formula (1), R is a C1 to 17 linear alkyl group or a phenyl group.EFFECT: Anchor effect is exhibited to a glass fiber of absorbed SiOfine particles by aggregating calixarene and SiOfine particles with an inorganic material and absorbing the SiOfine particles and the inorganic material and strength of a composite forming material is enhanced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
