If the paper sheet weight W is equal to or less than a threshold value W1, the control unit 21 determines that the paper sheet has been stored at ordinary temperature and ordinary humidity, and moves a halogen lamp unit 18 at a lower speed V2 (mm/s) relative to the placing table 15. If the paper sheet weight W is more than the threshold value W1 and is equal to or less than a threshold value W2, the control unit 21 determines that the paper sheet has been stored at ordinary temperature and higher humidity, and moves the halogen lamp unit 18 at a higher speed V3 (mm/s) relative to the placing table 15.
