PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to figure out the number of primes smaller than a given quantity (N).;SOLUTION: The remainder of excluding the multiples of 2, 3 and 5 from 7 and above in a given number (N) is expressed as the composites emerging here are expressed as the sum of the numbers of composites of primes not smaller than 7 and smaller than N and the numbers of the composites of primes not smaller than 7 and smaller than N are figured out by using these formulas; by subtracting the number of the composites smaller than N having 7 or greater prime factors from those numbers, the number of primes of not smaller than 7 and smaller than N is obtained, followed by addition of three primes smaller than 7, that is, 2, 3 and 5.;SELECTED DRAWING: None;COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT
