PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back pad for a knapsack, the back pad capable of preventing the lower edge from touching the waist of a user, and also to provide a knapsack having the back pad.SOLUTION: A back pad 1 of a knapsack includes a back plate 4 and a cushioning material 6. The cushion material 6 contains first, second, and third foamed materials 6a, 6b, 6c, of which the first foamed material 6a is partially arranged on the back plate 4 in each of the central part 4c and the lower part 4a. The second foamed material 6b has a higher expansion ratio than the first foamed material 6a, and is arranged in a manner partially superimposed on the back plate 4 and covering the first foamed material 6a, in each of the central part 4c and the lower part 4b. The third foamed material 6c has a higher expansion ratio than the second foamed material 6b, and is arranged in a manner covering the second foamed material 6b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
