An automated order-picking workstation (10) for the manual order-picking of articles from storage containers (14) into at least one order container (16) according to an order-picking order which can consist of a plurality of different articles, wherein the storage containers (14) have fast-moving item storage containers (18) for fast-moving articles and slow-moving item storage containers (20) for slow-moving articles, which storage containers (18, 20) are fed to the order-picking workstation (10) together with the at least one order container (16), wherein the order-picking workstation (10) has a multiplicity of storage-container passage channels (24) which can be operated uni-directionally and at least one order-container provision channel (24') which can be operated bi-directionally, wherein each order-container provision channel (24') is allocated an order container (16), and wherein each passage channel (24) is allocated one or more fast-moving item storage containers (18) or slow-moving item storage containers (20), wherein all the channels (24, 24') have an end which defines a delivery space, wherein the channels (24, 24') are arranged substantially parallel to one another, and wherein the delivery places are arranged in this way next to one another and in delivery planes (22-1, 22-2, 22-3) which are arranged above one another.
