Protection system of a ground against the weather hazards and sport surface area of the open air, which is equipped with such a system, as well as a method of protection of a ground against the climatic conditions. The present invention relates to a system of protection of a ground (1) against the climatic conditions, the said ground and forming at the surface area (2), natural or synthetic not sealed, said system comprising integrated in the thickness of the ground: - a heating means (4) put into place in order to dissipate the heat in the ground (1) from a depth h, so as to ensure the heating of the ground (1) substantially over the whole of the area (2), - a ventilation means (5) placed at a depth greater than the depth h, so as to produce a flow of ventilation (6) in the thickness of the ground (1), said heating means (4), the ventilation means (5) and the structure of the ground (1) being such that the ventilation stream (6) provides the dissipation and distribution of heat through the thickness of the ground (1) in order to ensure the heating of the area (2).
