The present invention relates to a device for body-building or physical rehabilitation comprising a support user (1,2) to enable a user to be positioned with respect to the apparatus, the apparatus implementing at least one tensioning device (4) chosen from the hydraulic or pneumatic jacks, simple or double effect, and the elastic structures carried by a strip (3) carrying an arm of application intended to be actuated in rotation about an axis called the axis of exercise (10) by the user when - latter is positioned on the support user (1,2) to produce a muscle or rehabilitation. According to the invention, the attachment strip (3) carrying the tensioning device (4) is fixed to the support user (1,2) by means of a mechanical device for adjusting (5,11) for positioning and immobilizing the strip (3) and the tensioning device (4) in at least two distinct positions with respect to the support user (1,2) in which the axis of rotation of the arm of exercise (10) is aligned with the axes of joints of the body, separate, the two positions of the exercises exercise or rehabilitation of families of distinct groups by actuating the arm muscle training (10).
