A collapsible medical device comprising: at least one layer of a plurality of metal strands woven into a tubular metal mesh having a proximal end, a distal end, and a segment therebetween; wherein the tubular metal mesh has a predetermined expanded configuration shaped for an opening in a body organ; and wherein the predetermined expanded configuration is deformable to a smaller cross-sectional dimension to be conveyed through a channel in a patient's body, wherein the braided metal mesh has a memory property such that the medical device returns to the expanded predetermined configuration when deployed in a patient's body wherein the proximal and distal ends are pinless and at least a portion of the segment has a larger diameter than the free wire ends in the expanded predetermined configuration.
