A photovoltaic module (4) is connected in series with other photovoltaic modules (3) via a DC / DC converter (5), which have a different characteristic than the one photovoltaic module (4). Then, when the potential of the one photovoltaic module (4) potentially available power is at least as large as each of the other photovoltaic modules (3) currently emitted power, the DC / DC converter (5) is operated so that the combination of the one Photovoltaic module (4) with the DC / DC converter (5) has apparently the same characteristic as the other photovoltaic modules (3).
