FIELD: biotechnology.;SUBSTANCE: method for diagnosing and preventing proctecosis of Black Sea mussels in the merine culture environment. The invention refers to biotechnology and aims at diagnosing and preventing parasitic disease of Black Sea mussels Mytilus galloprovincialis on mussel farms. The mussels are examined to detect the clinical signs of the disease, which enable sampling the mussels for parasitological analysis. The mussels are considered to be mildly infected if one mussel contains up to 100 units of sporocysts; if one mussel contains up to 150-500 parthenitas, the mussels are considered to be moderately infected; the severely infected mussels contain from 600 to 5,000 parthenitas each, and if one mussel contain more than 6,000 sporocysts, the mussels are stated to be hyperinvaded. That provides a basis to take preventive measures. If the mussel appears to be mildly infected, a sampling rate is increases 2-3 times on the farm. The amount of sampling is increased twice as much, and a density of collectors is controlled on carriers, if the mussel is moderately infected. The severely infected mussel requires sorting out the weak mussels on the collectors and collecting the bottom mussels. The farms are supposed to be relocated, if the mussels are hyperinvaded.;EFFECT: improving the method.
