A method of treating patients with pleural effusion of various etiologies, including complex administration of drugs, intrapleural laser irradiation pulse frequency of 80 Hz, in a continuous wave mode, for 10 minutes, evacuation of fluid introduction into the cavity of an antibiotic, wherein the alternate intrapleural and intravenous laser irradiation wave length 0.365 microns and the output power at the end of disposable fiber 1-1.5 mW conduct fluid evacuation, and as an antibiotic in the pleural cavity administered 1 p cefazolin, wherein a quantity of therapeutic treatments is 3 to 5/7 (depending on the rate of free fluid accumulation in the pleural cavity).
